What to bring and what to expect at a first ENT visit in Patna.

A first visit is a history and an examination. Tell the doctor when the problem started, whether one side or both are affected, and what you have already tried. Mention medicines, including those bought without a prescription, and any allergy to a medicine.

Bring old prescriptions, hearing tests, scan reports and a short written timeline. If a child is the patient, bring the person who sees the symptoms at home. You do not need to send photographs of reports on WhatsApp before the visit.

Not every visit needs a hearing test, endoscopy or scan. Those are used when the examination suggests they will change the plan. Ask what the likely explanations are, and which warning signs should bring you back sooner.

If you are coming from outside Patna, including from Jharkhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh or Nepal, confirm the day’s OPD before you travel. Planned care can wait for a booked visit. Dangerous symptoms should be treated as an emergency where you are.
