Hearing test (audiometry)
Audiometry measures hearing thresholds. It is comfortable for most adults and takes a short time in a quiet room.
It helps when hearing loss, tinnitus or dizziness is being assessed. It is not required for every earache.
The result is read with the ear examination. A hearing aid is one possible later discussion, not an automatic outcome.
