Flexible throat examination
A thin flexible camera passed through the nose shows the voice box and the lower throat. It is the usual way to look at hoarseness.
Hoarseness lasting about two to three weeks, especially in an adult, is a reason to discuss this examination. It does not by itself diagnose cancer.
The camera is narrow. Most people manage it with local spray. You can say if you need a pause.
