Hearing aids and rehabilitation

A hearing aid makes sound louder. It helps selected people with inner-ear hearing loss. It does not restore a normal ear, and it is useless if the real problem is wax or infection that can be treated.
Fitting depends on the hearing test, the shape of the ear, and what you need to hear at work or at home. There is a trial of listening in daily noise, not only in a quiet room.
This page does not recommend a brand or a price. Ask what the aid can and cannot do for your audiogram.
