Nasal endoscopy

A thin endoscope looks inside the nose at the septum, turbinates, polyps and the drainage pathways of the sinuses.
A local anaesthetic spray is often used. You can breathe through your mouth. It is a clinic examination, not an operation.
It is considered for persistent blockage, bleeding, smell loss or suspected sinus disease. A cold that is already improving may not need it.
General information. Suitability, risks and alternatives are explained by the treating clinician before any procedure. Nothing here is a recommendation for you personally.
