Turbinate reduction

Turbinates are shelves inside the nose that warm and humidify air. When they stay swollen they block breathing. Reduction aims to slim them while leaving enough tissue to do their job.
Allergy care, sprays and time are often tried first. An operation is for persistent blockage after that, confirmed on examination.
Over-reduction can leave the nose dry. That risk is part of the discussion before any procedure.
General information. Suitability, risks and alternatives are explained by the treating clinician before any procedure. Nothing here is a recommendation for you personally.
